B. Bullock & Co Ltd is one of Wanganui’s oldest and most well-known family owned contracting companies. First established in 1928 by the late Ben Bullock, the company is now highly diversified with interests in; road construction, drainage, timber processing , aggregate production, ready mix concrete, fencing supplies and land development.

Bullocks has been involved in countless construction projects in the lower North Island over the past 77 years. Some of the larger contracts have included the metaling of the Rata Flats, a Ballast crushing contract for NZ railways at Taumaranui, major drainage works at Ohakea, plus countless roading contracts including the challenging Bruce Road upgrade on Mt Ruapehu.

Presently, Bullock’s employs a total of about 50 staff and recent high profile work has included contracts in Wanganui’s wastewater separation works and water reticulation system upgrade. Bullocks have continued their activities in roading construction, which is likely to be an ongoing focus for the Company over the next decade.
